Being bed-bound is getting old

Not that I was told to stay in bed but I was told to elevate my foot at least four hours per day and walking around is a bit painful now that my foot is wrapped up with more than a bandage.
We have one recliner in the living room and one glider chair with a foot rest but that's hard to get out of when my feet are good so I'm not sitting there for awhile. My husband was home today and now is going to the room where his desktop is so I get the recliner. Maybe in a bit I can talk myself into loading the dishwasher too but we'll see.
Tomorrow he has the day off and I can be in the recliner longer at least .
I did get a few things done this week. I went through a box of papers and then went through my old mail and trashed most of it. I need to come up with another project that I can sit up and do.
Last night I watched again the end of last seasons grey's anatomy. Maybe I can find something to watch a bit tonight.

Yes it will be behind me one day soon it so I expect. Then I'll need to make sure I never get another one again.
I watched a short series the queens gambit on netflix. And then might make breakfast and finish loading the dishes and run the dishwasher.
I found that the more I walk around the less it first so I just need to walk around a little more than I have been.

Sad to hear you're ailing and hope you get better fast! My doctor tells me to do stretching exercises. Getting old is sometimes difficult. My acupuncturist says 15 min. heating pad for my knees. Old age is here!

Mine might be somewhat age related but it's mostly varicose vein related.

@oahuwriter I think I like where I am. I went to a certain clinic the first time two years ago and the wound center for it healed in 1/6th of the time the others were working on it.

I see. Locally we got Vein Clinic which I see commercials for. You might have one in your neck of the woods.

Can't elevate very well while on the recliner either but I've been told having your feet on even a low still is better than nothing. When I'm in bed in on three pillows.

Hope you find something you like. I know healing can be a pain, literally. But, hopefully your foot will heal soon.

I would hope until two out of three of the ulcers heal but it will depends on the provider. I'll find out tomorrow if I have another week or not. The last time I had this being off my feet helped it heal faster.

I don't know. A lot depends on how long it takes too heal. I would think it would be better tomorrow since I had my feet elevated almost noon still this past week but it could take longer.
I do know that when I work my shoes were rubbing the area which wasn't helping.

Thanks. You realize what we take for granted (moving freely)when something like this happens.

The first time I had a wound like this it lasted a year and three months. I worked through all but the k last month or so when it finally healed up. The last two months I changed from seeing a specialist to going to a wound center instead.
This time I went to the wound center directly but since my shoes were rubbing the area I don't think it had enough time to heal when I was off work. Now that I'm off hopefully it will begin to heal faster than it was before.

Being home from work is nice but I'd rather be able to get around better. On the other hand if I could manage better I'd probably be well enough to be back at work part time anyway.

I hope your foot feels better soon and you find something enjoyable to watch. I think you need a comedy,

I'm not watching a comedy but I'm enjoying it mostly. It's called the queens gambit on netflix.

I just watched the queens gambit which was a small miniseries and interesting.

Thanks Carol. At least I'm off the bed a bit and I already loaded the dishes as much as I can.

The healing is rather slow but maybe in another week of having it wrapped it will be at least a little better.

It's been this way since last Thurs. I've slept a lot both day and night. I may have to bit my husband to his room more or the other chair in the house.
