So apparently New York's Governor Cuomo will receive an Emmy Award for his covid briefings. That was a shock to me when I heard about it. I had no idea people can get an Emmy for briefings. That's new to me.
But it won't be a regular Emmy. He will get the International Emmy Founders Award given to him by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Being from the state of NY I listened to a number of his briefings at the height of the pandemic... They were informative but I wouldn't call it great television. And I certainly didn't find it comforting.
Al Gore, Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg have also gotten this award in the past.

I did not think they give out awards for briefings. Guess I was wrong. But this is the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

@lovebuglena Yes, many of them were like that especially back in March through May.

@lovebuglena I tell you, there is no end to his pompous attitude, at least that is my opinion of him..not impressed at all. Writing a book? No doubt he was inspired by himself

Yeah. His briefings were informative but they were tiring and repetitive. I did not find them comforting at all but people are saying they found them comforting. I also remember he had beef with the president over covid and I think even with the NYC mayor. And he was rude at times...
Oh, get this... he wrote a book during this pandemic. When did he have time to do that?

I vote for his Emmy Awards. He was extraordinarily talented in that category.
I never watch that actor. I just saw his winning Emmy from Newsmax and Greg Gutfeld' s monologue.

He is not an actor. Cuomo is a governor of the state of New York.

I love Chris Cuomo and watch his show all the time. I think he deserves the award.

Andrew Cuomo is the one that won the Emmy, not Chris.

@LindaOHio I was very surprised. Had no idea they give Emmys for briefings. But this is the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

@lovebuglena Oh, that's surprising. Duh, you said the Governor; and I missed it.

Yeah. No way could I watch those briefings every day. You get tired of it.

His briefings were informative but I am not sure why he deserves an award for them. But congrats to him.
