Just a whisper

I woke this morning to a hint of snow. My world has been lovely warm for November. I could see green grass through the white snow. It was below freezing so I was delighted to not have the chore of driving first thing. Leah slept in. She is quieter now though an hour or so after I give her a pain pill she moves more. She continues to chase cats. We hope to have our Leah pup when Christmas is here. This evening, toward sunset, I fed the chickens and ducks. It was above freezing so I walked further, down through what has been garden and down property to our found bench. I sat for a few moments, letting the cold seep in through my jacket, petting Saia cat until she bit my jacketed arm. Silly cat will always be a feral girlie. I needed the peace. Leah ran through the weeds, cross country, to me, instead of following the path that I hacked out. It was good to see that for a few minutes she had her zip back. Now that I am in house, I chop a potato into boiling split peas. Hot soup sounds good! Hubby ran some multi colored lights on the deck railing. Seeing them through the front window cheers me.

Caring for animals is fulfilling, ain't it? Are the lights for Christmas?

@sallypup Gosh, that is really heart wrenching. Your Leah though is blessed to have you for her human, because you truly care for her. I love my dog, too. Dogs are best and most trustworthy of creatures.

@eileenleyva Yes the lights are Christmas pretties. My darling Leah dog has cancer so I treasure my time with her.

Those feral kitties are such drama queens, aren't they?

@rebelann Thank for the laugh. This drama queen would gladly kill me if she had a chance.

I'm so happy to hear that Leah was acting like her usual self. I'm happy the meds are helping.

@DianneN Just like humans, yesterday Leah had a sleepy morning. This morning she was trotting around wagging her tail. I hope she stays with us till Spring. Thanks for your well wishes.

I so hope you have Leah at Christmas and beyond. Those benches are the best to sit and ponder. Happy to hear the lights made you smile.
