Can I have my photo taken next?

Recently we spent two days on a horse stud taking photos of the horses and the family. It’s been our first assignment of this type so we weren’t too sure how it would go.
Young horses can be quick to take fright, depending on how much they have been handled. These were all very confident and friendly around humans. In the photo, you can see Vince taking a photo of the boy with a young horse. The other three were all very interested in what was going on.
We took a piece of whiteboard with us which is used as a reflector to reduce shadows. We thought the horses might be scared of the board as it’s not something they’d be familiar with but once they’d all had a sniff at it they were quite happy. It was a fun two days. We took way too many photos but have now processed them and culled a lot. I’ll share more in the days to come.

They know they can trust humans which is good.

@JudyEv Proper breeding goes a long ways too. I never started training my babies until they were weaned. But by being careful buying my breeding stock they were all very easy to work with.

@wolfgirl569 Here they tend to handle them a lot virtually from birth but they're not 'trained' as such except for learning to lead.

Is there a specific purpose for the photos or is it a hobby. I believe these horses are well trained.

@yoalldudes We are lucky to be able to make a few pennies from our hobby.

That is an exciting assignment and hopefully it could be a money spinner as well.
Indeed, the horses would also be excited with the exercise.

Yet even a small amount of money for a hobby can be exciting and worth the effort.

That's so true. We've only just finished processing the photos and have sent them through to the owner. We've worked at them on and off since we got home. It's our own fault that it takes so long as we take way too many photos then have to decide which ones to keep and which to discard. lol
The whiteboard works well.

It's nice that none of the horses were spooked and that made it easier to take the photos in sure.

what a fun assignment - i think that would be hard to do. How do you capture in 2d the beauty of a horse!

Exactly - that's why we ended up with hundreds of photos.
