I am sure you are aware of this simple rule. Honestly, I am not that kid in following the five-second rule of food. For the reason that my parents strictly say that it is dirty. To explain further, it is a situation wherein the food fell down on the ground and the person will still eat it if being picked up within five seconds. Some people claimed that it is still clean to eat.
Have you ever tried to do this before?
What's your opinion about it?

Of course, I'd eat a donut that fell on the floor. After all, the floor is clean.
Food is food. I don't wanna waste good food all because the food slipped through my butterfingers.

I tried my best to find where it originates. It questions the sanitary concern.

@Shavkat In fact I read that it comes from Genghis Kan in the times “people had little basic knowledge of microorganisms and their relationship to human illness....", do not forget that during the Middle Age that thought that "washing our body" was dangerous for our health!
