Ok - seriously these ad people - do they think we are stupid?

So we in India have an ad for Jio. The husband (Ranveer Kapoor) takes the remote off his wife's hand (Deepika Padukone) telling her its her turn to do the dishes. Wife says I washed dishes for 18 days in July whereas you washed only for 15 days. The husband instead of laughing at her, says who rolls over the excess days..at which the wife gives her pretty dimpled smile and says in sweetest voice Jio does it. Now, I don't know if you got it, but my math says 18+15 = 33 days. I wonder since when July has 33 days. I hope other Indians will watch that ad and let me know if I am deaf. But for now, it does sound like this is about 33 days in July, and even though I like Deepika, this is insulting.

That's just terrible. Maybe they have some kind of hidden meaning behind it? Although what it would be I haven't a clue. Or maybe they don't think the viewers are that stupid, could just be that they are that stupid ;)

They are stupid...or they believe that we are so smitten by the actors that we won't notice. Then they are trying to have the last laugh. That does not feel good, because the actors participated in that nasty joke.

More than funny insulting. I cannot believe the actors did not know what they were mouthing. They thought let us see if any of our fans are smart.

It just sounds like mild exaggeration to me. The wife simply wants the husband to wash the dishes, no matter whose turn it actually is. I find it very funny!

@vandana7 *grinning at you* Or, maybe she does and is just having fun with her husband.

Or, perhaps the underlying joke is that she can get away with telling him she's done the dishes for more days than she could have ultimately, and the man will just have to take the wife's word for it. lol

Now that is a different angle I did not think of. She was treating her husband as a fool and was confident he wouldn't realize it? That goes down well with me. LOL

You’re not supposed to be able to do math! It’s like our nutrition labels: one serving, zero calories; entire 1/2 gallon, 10 calories. Mathematically impossible, because anything times zero is zero.
