The Oldest Piece of Jewelry You Own?

I was tidying up my jewelry box this morning and came across the Rosary that had belonged to my Great Grandmother. Psst... It is amazing what will given to you when you are the only one in the family who works on the family tree and then shares. It never occurred to me when I first began my passion, but it certainly worked out that way. I also have my mother-in-laws wedding ring (which I used for my own wedding and a necklace from my grandmother. Jewelry wasn't always things that I would inherit! From my mom I didn't receive jewelry, but a snow globe that she loved, a Creche that is sitting out in our living room, not to mention one of her diaries. Definitely lucked out there! From my other grandmother I inherited her copper kettle. None are worth a lot of money, but they are priceless to me and to those I will pass them on to in the future!! So, what is your oldest piece of jewelry and is there a story to go along with it??

I have a gold pendant that I got from my grandmother (it was hers) on my 21st birthday. I've had it for over 53 years and it's my most treasured piece of jewelry

I have no jewelry left since burglars got into my house 2 years ago. They even took my wedding band.

My oldest piece of jewelry is my grandmother's school bracelet. So it's not too old (1950's). There's no real story other than I wanted it and she gave it to me. It's tangled, but it's also too skinny for me to wear anyway. The oldest thing I own otherwise are a set of books from Grace Livingston Hill. Printed in the 30's or 40's I believe.

My mom gave me her engagement ring from 1952 because diamond is my birthstone.

I have my great grandmother's wedding ring. My aunt had it and wore it for years, and passed it to me. I do remember my great grandmother fondly, so I was really happy that she left it to me. I plan on leaving it to my daughter. Some things are so nice to pass on to another.

I have a bracelet that was lent to me for "something borrowed" for my wedding. I never gave it back; and I don't know why. Maybe she told me to keep it?

I think it's not about the money, but the emotions and the meaning behind those jewelries. They must be love you so much to trust you enough to hold their heart. I only have my wedding ring. I am not fond of jewelry because i am allergic to few of those material (gold, silver) and my family was so poor, so my mom never gave me anything.
