Well, I guess I AM going to make a fourth discussion for the day

I am weird and don't like to make a lot of discussions in one day, especially if I feel like they don't have much substance but MEH! I'm doing it anyway.
I guess you might call this a continuation of my discussion about rearranging. I ended up putting the second shelf against the other wall like I said I would BUT I didn't measure correctly and ended up having to move the desk over to the wall next to it. It's fine, I like it this way as well. I'm going to move my bed tonight and THEN I will be done with the rearranging stuff.
I love making things look different. I am playing around with the idea of taking the hanging shelves off my wall so that I have the option to move a piece of furniture to it but I'm not sure. I'm finding that I like getting rid of things.
Are you a hoarder or are you someone who likes to live minimalistically?

Why not yes go right ahead make more discussions. I get days like that..I have to or I will never get rich
I used to live with a hoarder it was horrific got out of there fast as I could.
And I usually am very thrifty minimalist but sometimes I splurge.

@RebeccasFarm Thank You. I was talking to a friend of mine the other day and I said "ya know, I know that if I ever do find my person (a relationship) then they are going to have to be understanding about my familial obligations."

I wish I could move away some days, but I don't because I can't afford it and because I'd be worried about how these two are handling things. If I don't cook they eat fast food and it's just.. it's sad, really.

@ScribbledAdNauseum oh yes, then I understand your struggle perfectly. I tried to get rid some of the stuff but sometimes she managed to get them back.

Trust me, I know what you mean. I am a minimalist living in a hoarder household.

@prinzcy For here it's things like cardboard coffee cups etc, things that need to be tossed away and yet he keeps. I am always going behind and throwing them away.

I'm a little bit of both. I have a lot of stuff, but what we do have, has a purpose and a use. I am not the type that tries to justify keeping an object. And, for two people, my hubby and I don't create too much waste.

I used to be the type to try and justify keeping an object. It's not an easy thing to get out of, is it?

I have a few "hoards" that I will never get rid of, but yeah I understand what you mean. You seem to have a balance.

My grandfather loves to collect things that we don't really need nor will ever use. I understand exactly what you mean, it's not easy to get the older generations to stop collecting things.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Hoarding. That is what is wrong. The online orders come with bags and cartons. They get stocked.

@vandana7 It was the same here. We had an entire room of just cardboard boxes until I put my foot down and got rid of them all.

I am not a hoarder but I have living minimalistically, I like to have everything I need. Same as @thelme55 I am in the middle and you know that "in medio stat virtus". (Virtue stands in the middle) in the sense that everything in the middle is the best.

True. I like being able to get rid of things when I know I no longer require them. I also like buying things that can serve dual purposes.

@LadyDuck There are a few new things I want to buy, but they will be replacements for things I already have.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I am trying not to buy new things, but if I see something that I really need I do not hesitate.

I like having a fresh space. I used to move the furniture around a lot more than I do now.

I feel like I probably skirt towards the middle myself. There are some things I should get rid of for sure.

It just feels so great to do that, doesn't it? I told my friend once "I want to live in such a way that I could pack up and live in an RV if I wanted to."

@ScribbledAdNauseum I'd love to get rid of enough stuff so that we could move to the Florida Keys. Or into a senior housing location.

Yes, sometimes I get into a mood and want to get so many different things. I usually regret it afterwards.
