A good use for advertising catalogues

I saw a child making one of these paper trees some time ago and thought how simple but effective it was. So this year, I had a go at making one of my own. If you use a colourful magazine, it doesn’t really need much embellishment but with this one, we sprayed it with gold paint then sprinkled it with glitter.
If I do another one, we’ll use yellow paint as the gold doesn’t really show up. The instructions for this and dozens of other Christmas decorations are on YouTube. There is a paper angel which looks very effective too so perhaps I’ll have a go at that one day. It needs to be simple for me. I’m not really into intricate constructions. lol

@judyev My wife learned recently how to fold the pages of a book so that when the book was closed and laid down on its back what you saw was the word love along the long edge of the book - the bit you would open. Oh dear, I havent explained that very well. Yours looks good.

@JudyEv It seems sparkly too. That might be from the paint.

I had to buy one at the op shop (thrift shop) but that was for a different sort of 'tree'. One fashion catalogue I get regularly in the mail. I never buy anything from it but like looking at the pictures!
I got another one in the mail today. They put out about six a year. Such a waste of paper really.
