Honey I'm home...

United States

I haven't been home since Thursday. I arrived back Sunday night around 7 pm and was never so glad to be back home. There's just something about the familiarity of home that makes me happy. I sat on the fur-babies when they weren't sitting on me. I had to pick one of them up several times because he was recovering from an injury to his hip. Poor baby fell down the stairs last week, but he's doing so much better. He did, however, soak up all the attention he was getting and put on a little bit just to get more. (He knows we're a sucker and will give him all the attention he needs). Anyway, I'm back and I really need to get back into the grind of things... Like NOW. Four days off is more than enough and seeing as how I'll probably take Thursday and Friday off as well.. I need to get to work! How was your weekend?

@ScribbledAdNauseum Did they bite you for sitting on them? The poor thing. I am glad he is doing so much better. I am glad you have time off to be with your fur babies.

Nah, they did more of the sitting on me than the opposite. Yes, he is doing a lot better. I had to pick him up (he's about 60 lbs) and carry him down the stairs once and I picked him up to put on the sofa too.

@Hannihar Thank You. I'm their auntie, but yes I love petsitting for my best friend. They are really well behaved too.

@amitkokiladitya Yes. Truthfully my friends guest bed is more comfortable, but I like my covers because I pile them up differently. I layer a few covers on top of me so I can move around better in the bed.

It was sort of busy. At least Saturday. I made Christmas cookies, did laundry and other non exicting things.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I might give some of them away. They didn't actually make a huge amount. I have a friend in the hospital, that I would like to give some to.

Well the Christmas cookies are definitely exciting. Are those going to be gifts, or did you just make them to munch on this week?

@snowy22315 Ah. Hopefully the cookies will cheer the friend up a little, provided they can eat them. I know hospitals keep people on strict diets depending on what their ailment is.

Our pup Gizmo fell down the stairs a few months ago and got hurt so I know what you mean when you say you had to pick him up and give him more attention. the weekend here was quiet

I hope Gizmo is doing okay now. Wilson is 11 years old but he bounced back pretty quickly. I had to remind him to take it slow because he wanted to go faster.

Yes, but he was hamming it up there by the end. I could tell by his eyes that he was feeling a lot better. When I told him "mommy's coming home" (about forty minutes before she was set to arrive) he jumped up and basically attacked me with kisses lol

In many ways it was good. I will have to back read some of your posts to learn more about your absence.

I don't think I actually said why I was absent. Two of my friends went up to Maine to pick up their daughter/stepdaughter and I stayed at their house to petsit for them.

Same. I didn't even unpack Mainly because all the clothes in the bag have been washed and I'm ready to use them again next weekend.
