Do you know the definition of the word Amen? It appears many do not.
Amen definition: it is so; so be it (used after a prayer, creed, or other formal statement to express solemn ratification or agreement).

I read a story about a senator from Missouri who delivered the opening prayer for Congress on Sunday and ended the prayer like this...
"Amen and Awoman"
Yes, this actually happened. I just keep shaking my head.
Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, D-Mo., altered the traditional ending of "amen" by saying "Amen and awoman" as he delivered the opening prayer for the 117th Congress on Sunday -- raising eyebrows.

I've heard that definition before but it's not something that sticks in the mind. The definition makes me think of the Wiccan creed. "An it harm none, do what ye will." I know it's not the same, but it just brings that to mind.

@CarolDM Ah yes, I agree. Society has become too butthurt. Aren't we taught that words can never hurt us? Sticks and stones may break our bones but words can never hurt us?

@CarolDM Gender issues aren't a political issue, they're personal moral choices. Just like abortion. It's not a political issue, it's a personal moral choice. The government needs to stick with political needs.

I wonder if he was trying to be funny. I can't imagine a preacher doing that but mistake. I think selah means the same thing.

I would have called it hilarious but would refrain from doing so. It might offend many.
I had read about the meaning and thanks for reminding it. Was he unaware of the meaning or trying to make it hilarious or just trying to act clever??
