When I was in high school, I consider myself a certified bookworm. Particularly, the novel books in my school library are my good friends. I am so timid and not mingle much with my classmates. Whenever read a specific novel book, I always entering into a new world. They were my good friends because I gained knowledge on certain things. My preference in books is detective and adventure novels. At present, I lost interest in reading good books because of this pandemic thing. I am always preoccupied, too. I prefer reading posted discussions here. What books do you like to read? Do you prefer hardcover or e-book? Image Credit: static6.depositphotos.com

@ZedSmart That's a long time to read the book. I have some books here that I bought before the pandemic. They are all in the boxes and I haven't touched them since then.

I prefer hard-cover books and find books a great escape although I don't read as much as I used to.

@Shavkat I enjoy so much some books that, while I read, I feel as I was part of the scene.

I prefer hardcover books but have found it much easier to carry a thousand books around with me in my Kindle Cloud. I can access them on my Kindle Fire, on the Kindle app on my Moto G7 power or on the Kindle app on my tablet. I read one book a day, on average. I am currently reading a series written by Cassandra Clare. (And I just learned this series was made into a tv series. Since I haven't watched tv in about 14 years, maybe you can forgive me for not knowing that.)

@DaddyEvil I am sure I will like this genre. Are her books adapted to films? I am so intrigued by her books. I will check them out soon.

It has been a long time that I am not watching TV. There are times that I randomly look at it when my mother is watching some news on TV. I haven't read any books by Cassandra Clare. What is her writing style? You had mentioned that you love reading. I am amazed that you can read fast. I hope I can have the time to read a book per day. But then, time constraint makes me failed with this idea.

@Shavkat Cassandra Clare writes Sci-Fi/Fantasy. Her books are about human/angel hybrids who protect the people of Earth from demons from other planets/dimensions. The human/angel hybrids are called ShadowHunters. They can gain extraordinary physical powers by writing on themselves in the language of Heaven. It is a very interesting series. I highly recommend it, if you like books of that type. Other than working, I have little else I need to do with my time, so can spend as much time as I want reading.

While in school, I was a bookworm too. I couldn't get enough books. The past few years my interest has waned. I still prefer a hardback or soft cover over an ebook.

I don't know why I like paperback books. All I know is that I can feel the reading of it. Life is becoming busier and busier. For this reason, I cannot get on track by reading my books.

I have no preference. Anything goes. I still can read from my phone and rolled in my bed. Of course that's not possible with a laptop but I still can manage.

For my mobile phone usage, I love watching something with it. I like rolling to my bed with a paperback book.

I am a regular visitor of the library during my college days. I also read novels but I prefer reading DIY books which can be found in one area of our library.

It's also my favorite hangout place during my school days. \During my university days, I am always holding, carrying, and reading my medical books.

I have never read an e-book because I would rather have a proper book than spend time staring at a screen. I enjoy reading fiction including, historical fiction, mysteries, thrillers etc.

I cannot endure reading e-books. First and foremost, it will make my eyes strained much than reading hardcover books.

Books can carry you everywhere as if you're on top of a magical carpet depending on the story. Sometimes you are driven or carried away by whatever emotions you can dig in it. When I read book, I rush to see the summary first or I read backward because I am so eagerly excited to see first what happened at the end of the story.

I can feel your excitement when reading a book. Whenever I am reading a mystery book and the like, I am so eager to know the answer(s). I will join you with the point of having the hardcover book anywhere. The e-book app is more convenient. But then, I cannot feel like reading a particular book.
