Twitter has permanently disabled Trump's private account due to fears of inciting future violence. I'm surprised that it took this long but am happy that they finally did it! We don't need more of his crap every day.

Not necessarily, there are other social media outlets that far right extremist can post on.

I'm not actually all that surprised, really. Trump has said a lot of things, but first time I can recall a riot started over it.

The riot did not happen because of what he said. He never encouraged anyone to break into the Capitol and be violent. The media is making you believe that he did.

Agreeed. I hope we survive the next 12 days without incident. I got his niece's book from the library today. An interesting read so far. It appears that sociopathy and narcissism run in his family.

We need to get on with our own lives for a change. Needless distractions over matters we have no control over should cease..

And stand trial for his incitement against the duly and fairly elected Senators and Congress.

I've never heard of another president that Tweeted everything in his mind on his own personal Twitter account.

I just saw that on TV. The horse is already out but I guess it still doesn't do any harm to shut the barn door.

I saw this earlier. That's some of the best news I've heard in a long time. I'll even settle for his not being locked up so long as we don't have to listen to him or see his tweets. Ugh.

They think that by shutting Trump down on Twitter any potential violence will not happen... ?

Sure they are a private company and they can decide who gets to be a member or not.
