Did you ever have a wish that never came true?

When I was a child. I wish to have wings and fly up in the sky. This wish never came true because I am still a human being. I don't know why I like this wish. The superheroes in cartoons made me have this aspiration, such as Superman. It is my old-time favorite character. I even wanted to be an angel. Any wishes that never came true in your life? Are you still chasing this dream of yours? Image Credit: 4.bp.blogspot.com

I learned long time ago, to remain realistic. Being disabled will do that.

For a wishful thinker like me, I tried to wake myself up to reality.

@Shavkat Nothing wrong with wishful thinking. It was always hard for me to, when reality always found a way to but into my life.

@kaylachan There are some points in life that we need to accept the constraints. But we can still do wish since it is free to do so, right?
9 Jan 21
Well, your wish is not that far away from becoming a reality. Transhumanist technology is working on making either real, physical wings (not very suitable for the current shape of the human body) or mechanical wings that make people cyborgs. To me, it would be preferable to other types of transportation. :)

Since we are in the Fourth Industrial Revolution now, I do believe that it may happen like what Iron Man is using in movies. I had seen an article the flying cars are still developing. It might be available in the future.

We can still be hopeful that it will come true. The new invention for flying is still in the process.

I had so many wishes during my childhood years. Some of them came true, like to graduate in a medical field which I did. It has been a long time that I didn't blow birthday candles and wish. It is because I don't have birthday cakes as a grown-up man.

I have plenty of wishes that never came true. The last wish I made was one that did come true but it was something that had a 50% chance of coming true anyway! I am, I suppose, still chasing the dream of becoming a published author of a 'proper' book!

@Shavkat thank you. I have had small things published. A poem here and there, two ebook children's stories that are only a couple of pages long, a self-published book of poetry and a short story that I really like but is only 7 pages long. I'm working on one with several chapters now. I intended to complete it a couple of years ago but still hardly half way through! Good luck with yours.

I hope your dreams will all come true. Honestly, I have a book with two versions and they are not published yet. It has been a decade that is being saved in my external drive.

I had lots of wishes as a kid that never came true. One was an American Girl doll and a swing set never had either as a kid. I also wished for a baby sister with red hair and freckles that never happened either. It’s good to have wishes and dreams even if you never reach them.

Whatever the dreams that we have, some may not come true. But then, it is s a good feeling to wish for someone or something. These dreams can guide us to reach them or not.

I wanted to be an Astronaut. This was in 1967 when Neil Armstrong stepped on the moon. But I couldn't because all the canidates for the astronaut training programs had to have 20/20 vision, and I don't I have always had to wear glasses since I was 6 years old. . . so no going to the moon for me.

You are right that we need to have perfect vision to be an astronaut. I am sure most kiddies wanted to be like Neil Armstrong at that time. Moreover, we can still go to the moon by imagining it
