Another Blouse Complete

United States
January 13, 2021 9:15am CST
Okay.. I have three of these now. Admittedly, only two of them fit because the first one was well.. my first one and I went by the sizing of the tutorial. Either way, I really need to move on to another blouse pattern or something. But this one is so fun and easy to make. The stitches I used are double crochet, single crochet, slip stitch and chains. I was distracted when embellishing the collar, sleeves and the bottom of the shirt. I meant to make the collar a bit different but I tied off before I meant to and didn't feel like slip stitching back in and creating more tails for me to weave in. I did the same for the bottom of the shirt but I did tie back in because I wanted it to be longer. Purple is one of my favorite colors.

Thank You! I've got to find another pattern to work though and maybe something not clothes related. I'd love to make a doll actually, but I don't really have the right colored yarn for that. Might have to go get it soon.

@MommyOfEli2013 You're welcome. It took me a long time to even try crochet again. I always thought I was just not that creatively inclined... So don't give up if it's something you really want to try.

@ScribbledAdNauseum No problem! And that sounds like a good plan, I've tried doing that kind of stuff before but was never good at it! Someone in my family made a doll, but I don't remember who - just know it was given as a gift to me. Hope you have fun with that :)

You are doing those blouses in a very short time, congratulations.

It takes me around 2 - 4 days because I spend atleast two hours a day on it. I usually break it up into fifteen minutes at a time.

@ScribbledAdNauseum It's very good, considering that you only work 2 hours a day on it.

@LadyDuck Thank You. There are some things I need to practice more on. I am still struggling with weaving in my ends but I think I need a yarn needle with a wider, circular eye.

I like that blouse. The color is calming, too. I have not crocheted any blouse before but I am thinking of making it for summer. I used to knit pullover but not crocheted. I might, we´ll see. Do you always use a pattern for crocheting?

At the moment, yes I use a pattern for crocheting. I am not yet confident enough to crochet without one. This is the pattern I used

Me too. It was a struggle to decide what yarn i wanted to sew the piece with and make the sleeves and bottom embellishments with. I had thought about white but I'm glad I used the dark purple. Don't you think white would have drowned out the pretty purple too much?

@LindaOHio Black was another option but I used black the last two blouses and was getting tired of it.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I don't think I would have cared for white on that piece. I like the purple.

Awesome! I'm still new to this whole crocheting clothes thing but I try. Color is definitely spelled without the u. Cuh-lore not Co-lu-ore

@JimBo452020 Well, I mean we spell it the way it's pronounced... soo... Honestly, English as a whole has bstardized it's own language. We're Germanic in root and just decided we were going to mess it all up.

@ScribbledAdNauseum have any small friends you can ask if they want it?

Yeah, this will be more of a spring type blouse I think. I need to get more cotton yarn if I'm being honest. I may get rid of the first crocheted blouse I made since it doesn't fit me, and if I get cotton yarn I'll just re-do the other two in that.

Thank You. I am working on a pocket scarf at the moment. Once I'm done I will post about it. I'd really like to see about making my own doll, but I'd need different yarn than I have now and possibly a smaller hook then I have at the moment.

@Tina30219 I just need to decide exactly how many rows I want to do the scarf. It's pretty long at 248 stitches (I haven't measured that, but I know it will fit around my neck well)

It has a little bit of stretch to it because of the type of stitches.
