She also understands my gestures.

As I have been alone with Luna, we have gotten to understand each other much better than if she had just been "the dog of the house". I get up in the morning and take off the alarm. Whatever the time, she comes to check at my bedroom door. She gets out of her house, yawns and stretches just like a human being and jumps. But she knows I´m old so she stops as she gets near me and sits. If I don´t do a thing she makes a little baby cry for a caress. I talk to her and pet her. If I don´t have any snack, she goes away after some time to lie under a small palm tree in the garden. If I do, she takes it with care, goes to leave it in the grass and comes back to say thank you. Only then, when I say "go and eat" does she go for it. Trained? I don´t think so. Then only word I have taught her is to sit, when she was a baby. She does not even understand the word "down". But when I go out with her dish and I am scared that she will jump at me with her 30 kilos of weight, I just say " come on, out, let me get to your dish" and "behave". She knows. Luna is a real companion. Maybe not as much as Misty, but I got her when she was a lot older. Do you have dog friends?

Dogs are lovely companions, I never had dogs, but in the family my relative had many dogs and they were all good companions.

@marguicha Dogs have sentiments, they know when those who loved them are no more.

That´s a lot. You must live in a big space.

To cats, hand signals are for attacking. You sign, they attack

She sounds an intelligent and caring dog to have learned what she has without any training.

You have a wonderful companion. Dogs can be better company than some people. They are always happy to see you and are grateful for anything you do for them. They give you unconditional love and loyalty.

She sounds like a great friend. When I wake up, my dog is waiting for me not to pet her, but to let her jump in the bed, because she thinks it's her turn now.

I could not have Luna in my bed. She would have to learn how to clean her paws first.

Dogs are the best. I really miss not having dogs in the house now. They are so intuitive and such good company. Luna is very smart.

Dogs respond intelligently to gestures.
