Living Blue in a Red State

We are liberal Democrats and live in a red (Republican) state. As a matter of fact, we live in a very conservative part of that state. I call it blood red. Lots of Republicans in these parts. Lots of Trump signs during the election. As a matter of fact they didn't just have Trump signs, they had those large flags like you saw at the riots on January 6th. Those Trump flags were still flying at many homes weeks after the election. It wasn't until after January 6th that some folks finally started taking down those flags. We see fewer and fewer of them since that debacle, and since Trump has finally left. There are a few homes that still have them flying, but those are often the people who don't pick up the trash in their yards either.

The last sentence, I am a Scottish Indy Man, And many of my fellow Nationalists proudly fly the Saltire But they are just as likely as Union Jack Flying Unionists to not pick up the trash in their yards.

@JimBo452020 Biden supporters that I know took down their signs when the election was over. I've never seen a phenomenon quite like this year. Trump supporters usually had multiple signs, very large flags and left them up a long, long time.

@pjmurphy That beggars the question. And I keep getting told that my bias against the Republicans is unfair. So are the Democrat supporters still flying Joe flags or Kamala flags often people who don't pick up the trash in their yards ?

Many may still support Trump and the Republician party, even though Joe Biden is our president. Nothing wrong with that. As long as they don't do something stupid, let them be.

You may not have to like them. And, according to you, you just put up with them because some are your friends while others are simply neighbors. It's better to get along, because you just never know. However, unless they did something stupid, like involve themselves in protests or stormed the capitol... then their opinions and views are harmless. @pjmurphy

@kaylachan Some of them did a few very stupid things on January 6th. I truly believe that some are very dangerous people. We should be concerned, It's all a little crazy.

These are our neighbors and some are our friends. We tolerate them all, but I think much of what they have done has done harm to our country and hurt our reputation around the world.

Ohio can often go either way. But being in the middle of nowhere many of the farmers are for republicans no matter who is running. But many dont put the signs and stuff up.

We've had more signs during this election than at any time since we've been living here. Most of the time there are few signs from either side.

I live in a blue state with a few wacky people, but also live in a red state not far from Trump. He seems to be on the outs there. More and more people are seeing the light!

I live in a blue province (Conservative) and I am not. Frustrating, sometimes. But I haven't noticed any trash correlation

The trash correlation may just be a coincidence.

Wow, it must be difficult to live in Trump land. What state are you in, by the way? I live in Minnesota, which in the urban cities area and even immediate suburbs, we are mostly all blue - but as SOON as you get to rural Minnesota, it's a totally different climate and you'd be hard pressed to see left wing flyers up there. It's crazy how things change depedning on where you are.

I live in Tennessee. The metropolitan areas of Tennessee are blue, and the rural areas are red.

My nearest neighbors toss their trash. They rarely put it in their garbage can. And I live in a very red part of my state but I don't know what side of the fence they stand on, other than they can't seem to figure out about where trash goes.
