Late yesterday before sunset I could see what looked like a full moon. After researching today I read that tomorrow night (January 28th) we will have what is called a Wolf Moon.
Reading from the Farmer's Almanac this is what I learned about this moon...
..."It is thought that January’s full Moon came to be known as the Wolf Moon because wolves were more often heard howling at this time. It was traditionally believed that wolves howled due to hunger during winter, but we know today that wolves howl for other reasons. Howling and other wolf vocalizations are generally used to define territory, locate pack members, reinforce social bonds, and coordinate hunting."
Kind of interesting to read about the moon phases. I think so anyway. For all of you moon lovers, this one's for you.

That's an interesting fact Carol. It's the 28th here and nighttime will come in less than 4 hours. I really do wish to see the moon tonight but I think I won't be able to coz it's raining hard here. Hope the sky clears up tonight though. will check the moon later.

@CarolDM A youtuber that I sometimes follow was very close to one once. He was scared out of his mind and I can't say that I blame him. They are beautiful, majestic creatures.

@CarolDM I look certain things up I just wouldn't have thought the moon had a specific name this time of year.

I read a book a little back, it was about wolves written by a Native Tribal woman (can't remember her name).
Although the book was written as fiction it contained a lot of facts.
I never knew what a Wolf Moon was but it makes sense after having read that book. In the coldest part of winter the wolves often divide territory for hunting purposes and they have to travel much farther apart than normal. So a little extra howling would definitely make sense as a full moon is much easier to hunt by.

Thank you for that interesting information. The moon will probably be covered by clouds tonight
