So- It's almost my birthday! (2/1 and it's a Monday this year) I have decided to keep quarantined as much as possible so my selection of fun things to do is a little slim this year. (This is not intended as lecture to those who are going out and doing things/living life - we must all do as we are comfortable, and this is my comfort level.) So, in lieu of going out to a restaurant with momma and my friends and then going out for live music (which is what I would most likely do) - I decided to try some online experiences as there are a whole host of them that have cropped up thanks to the pandemic. So! I decided on : "Sub-Text: an altered reality game" "Paint Night painting party" "Murder Mystery" and "Dirty Bingo" Bingo and the Murder Mystery are over Zoom , actually so is the painting party which mom and myself will do. So far I completed "Sub-Text" an altered reality game. Now it seemed a little spooky when I signed up. Threatening that I wouldn't know where reality would end and the game would begin. The game sends you text messages which you reply to. The plot is that you are helping "Jonathan" escape from a research facility where he is being held against his will. During the gameplay you will need to look things up online, e-mail "people" for clues and so on. It wasn't as spooky as I had feared and was actually somewhat enjoyable. It wasn't *too* difficult to figure out, though one time I worded something just a tiny bit off in my reply to the text and it didn't progress because of it. (I had to watch someone's walkthrough posted on Youtube to get it figured out.) So, it was kinda weird, not too difficult but I was thankful for that walkthrough on a couple occasions... overall enjoyable and worth the $7 I paid for it. Here's an article about it:
While rising fears of artificial intelligence and powerful technology compound, it's easy to forget that social engineering has become the preferred method of hacking.  Subtext, an alternate reality game (ARG), uses technology to demonstrate that we're our

At least your could play it in the comfort of your own home. Not to scary there I hope. And I hope you have a nice birthday and enjoy your time with your mum even though it won't be in person.

Ah it wasn't at all as scary as I thought it would be. Thanks! I'm actually in person with mom. I isolate in the rest of my life for the most part so that I'm safe to be with momma :-)

In case I don't 'see' you on the 1st, I hope you have a very happy birthday. In Australia, we write the date the other way. So we'd say 1/2 meaning 1st February. We have lots of similarities but also a lot of differences.

@FayeHazel As far as I'm aware, they write the date this way in England but I'm not positive.

Thanks! Oh that's interesting. Is that how they do it in England, too, the date that way?
