How my favorite thrift store paid me to shop at walmart

Though I really wanted to shop at the dollar tree.
Went to the thrift store this morning to sell a few things. They gave me $20.xx and then like 0.92 in store credit. I went to the dollar tree after that but the place looked as if it was going out of business or something. A lot of shelves were just barren. They did not have the vacuum seal bags that I wanted.
I had to go to walmart... I spent $15.xx of the $20.00 the thrift store gave me. $9.00 for a five pack of the roll up seal bags and not the vacuum kind that I like.
Oh and I got a pillow for this chair so I can stop using the blankets.
So THAT is how the thrift store paid me to go to walmart.
Made any home improvement purchases lately?

Hmmm... Dollar Tree here is in the process of moving their stuff around like Walmart does so you can't find anything and have to keep looking for it. Pretty and I went in to pick up some candles. (I like burning candles in my room. *shrug*) They had all the stock for that aisle in shopping carts while they cleaned the shelves and rearranged that aisle. But I did get my candles!
The last purchase I made for the house was some of the plastic to put over a window in Pretty's room. The window doesn't fit tight in the frame so she gets a bit of a breeze sometimes.

I hardly go to walmart so I was all sorts of turned around today when looking for the vacuum seal bags. I have what I call the "better dollar tree" in the next little town over, but that was just too much running around and walmart was closer.
Candles are gender neutral

@ScribbledAdNauseum Unfortunately, I work at Walmart. So am in there almost every day. *sigh* I sell cell phones and their plans.
I like to burn candles while I sleep. (I've got a glass enclosure for them so I don't worry about starting a fire from them while I sleep, either.)

Yep. I gave them my looney tunes beanie baby calender because I had lost some of the babies and it was just hanging there gathering dust. I was surprised at the amount they gave me today though.

@MommyOfEli2013 Yep. I sold the video capturing device without any of it's cords and of course I found the cord after I came home. Oh well, it's not like I don't have other things I can sell them, I'm sure.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Sounds like a nice item though, and that's good about the amount they gave you!

I still haven't changed my blinds to something different but I want to. If nothing else I want to buy darker blinds.

Aw bummed your dollar tree didn’t have the vacuum seal bags you wanted. Hopefully they’ll restock eventually.

I could have bought them online, but I think i'd have to buy atleast ten. Either way, I figured this was the cheaper option.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yes. We bought one last month and it wasn't good. Now we bought another one. We returned the other one.

@dya80dya I'm glad you were able to return the other one. We bought a stove several years ago but not the kind I wanted.

@CarolDM Right. I know goodwill always has printers but I don't know if they'd work or be worth it.

That's completely understandable. There's a lot of stuff I should be doing with the house but haven't.

The goodwill's down here have some really nice household goods sometimes. I have two small ramekins I use to mix spices when I need to or melt coconut oil or butter. Otherwise they don't get used.

@paigea I'm glad you get a lot of use out of yours. If I'm being honest half the stuff in my kitchen doesn't get used. Trying to get better at that.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I use them in the oven a lot, and then they end up in the freezer. Do extras are nice.

Made me laugh. I use blankets and quilts as pillows in my chair too.
Maybe I need to go sell some things for a pillow.

I feel like i find new things I no longer use and could sell almost every day. I wasn't even planning to get the pillow but walmart is a maze and I saw them when passing by.

Yes. Purchased some drapes and will be most likely ordering some curtain rods. Nothing else planned at this time.

Sounds like a nice way to refresht the room. We have to curtain rods here for curtains on our sliding glass door but we've never put them up.
