New England Clam Chowder and No New Computer...Yet

I told you earlier that I was looking for clams to make a New England clam chowder for dinner tonight, but Ruler did not have any. So I bought shrimp instead and was going to just make a seafood chowder.
But then I told you I was going to Waterloo to visit the Walmart there.
Duh. I can get my clams there. So, that's what I did, and so New England clam chowder is back on.
I also told you they have an HP laptop there with 8GB of RAM and a 256 GB hard drive for $399. I looked at it again, after measuring my screen on my current laptop which is 17".
The one for $399 is only a 15" screen, and I prefer the bigger screen. So I did not buy it.
But now the search is on, in full force, I know what I want, and I will start digging in a little deeper.
Probably in a week or two I will have a new laptop. But not today. I imagine due to the larger screen I will probably pay closer to $500. But that's still not a bad deal at all.

Walmart sells fresh clams?
Seems like a good deal on that laptop. I have a Lenovo Yoga or something like that. Can be used as a laptop or as a tablet though as a tablet doesn't work properly. A bit slow and has issues. And it cost over $1K. Crazy! Don't remember when I bought it though. And then after my windows upgraded from 8.1 to the 10 my laptop screen started flickering (is that the right word?). Very annoying. So now I have to plug it into the power for the flickering to stop. And enough times I have full battery and have to do that, which is not good. Shouldn't keep things plugged in when battery high.

@porwest I've noticed fish and meat in stores that's prepackaged either totally frozen or partially frozen. That means it's been frozen and if we buy it and put in the freezer we are double freezing which can't be good.

@lovebuglena I don't know. I know a lot of people make a lot of comparisons between fresh and frozen. But personally I have never had something that was necessarily bad. So, for me I don't really notice the difference. Besides, most frozen foods these days are all flash frozen, thanks to a century old process invented by Mr. Birdseye. Yup...the guy behind the BirdsEye brand.

When my power supply worked on my laptop I always left it plugged in. Never had any issue with it until it stopped charging. lol. But that only started about a year ago or so.
Walmart might sell fresh clams in some places, although because of the way their supply chain works I suspect even in areas where it would be feasible, they probably don't. If clams are sold in the deli or seafood cases, I suspect they arrive frozen, and are thawed for sale.

I like the 17" screen better as well. Good luck finding a bargain.

@LindaOHio I have not. I am really not a fan of their store. But it is still worth a look. So long as whatever I find meets all my needs, including price, I really don't care who I ultimately buy it from.

@FayeHazel Oh man, give me some crab or lobster with butter any day of the week. I am a sucker for it, when I want to spend on it of course.

No, it isn't. I forget what the screen size is on mine, but I want to say they're probably close to 12 to 15 inch. I don't need a huge screen. I hope you do find what you're looking for.

I understand. I use a screen reader because of my poor eyesight. So, as long as I can use the touch screen when I need to.... I'm happy. @porwest
