I may have said before, i actually work in two school systems. My bus kids go to a different district, for specialized life skills training.
Tomorrow THEIR school is having school. Ours is not.
Our elementary is not having school because I guess there is still a chance of rolling black outs and we do not want a school full of kids if that happens. At the middle school and high school the heat is still not working, so they will also learn remotely. Elementary will not be required to learn online tomorrow as many of them have older siblings who will need the computers. And again, you do not want them online and hit by a rolling black out.
So, bus driver Earl will pick me up at my house. I will ride about thirty five miles in total, then hubby will come get me. I will go back at 2:30 to do the evening round.
Meanwhile hubby is having all kinds of car trouble in the cold.
Never ending story.

@marlina Belt broke on the other when he was going to get a battery. We still had one that would work.

It doesn't sound like much fun, that's for sure...
May I ask what state you live in?

@GardenGerty I live just southwest of Springfield, Missouri. You guys are having similar weather to what we're getting.
A few days ago we went out to go to the store and our car wouldn't start. I called AAA but they said they couldn't get to me because so many people had called for jump starts that day already. (It was -12 F when we called for help.) So we just stayed home. Then next morning I went out and tried starting the car again... It started right up. It had to have been the low temp that caused the problem. I just bought the battery...
We ended up with 8 inches of snow yesterday. We had trouble opening our front door. The snow had piled up on it pretty good. And the high yesterday made it all the way up to 8 F.
I'm tired of snow and cold temps now.
I hope you're enjoying the snow and cold, too.

@GardenGerty a battery is an easy fix once it's determined.

It is a matter of a belt on one and a battery on another.

I worked for Iosco Intermediate School District, as a sub-teacher's aide for a while. I liked it!

@GardenGerty I worked with mentally challenged children, as a call in sub. It was rewarding.

I hope spring comes for you sooner rather than later. I almost feel bad about breaking out into a sweat, today.

Oh, don't feel bad. We have had a very mild winter for most of it. It is all part of a balance, though.

It sounds a bit complicated, but at least you know what is going on!
In some areas here schools are splitting the days so that less children will be in the school and avoid the virus. Not sure if it will work, but I'm not in charge.
Hope those car issues are resolved.

Yes, that is known as hybrid learning. Some of the schools here did that. Cold weather is really hard on cars.

You do seem to have a lot of car troubles. I hope the car behaves in the sort of weather you're having.
