Hard Morning

Our sweet Buttons crossed the rainbow bridge this morning. Our hearts are broken. We are thankful she went quietly with us at her side. We buried her under a pecan tree. Thank you for your well wishes for her. 10 years doesn't seem long enough time with her. Loving and taking care of them is easy. Letting go is the hardest part.

Thank you. No it's not. They work their way into our hearts and homes. Thankful for the 10 years with her. Wished it could have been longer.

Thank you so much. We have shed many tears this week. Thankful we still have our sweet Ginger to love on. She looks for Buttons even though they didn't get along as well as we had hoped when we rescued her.

@Dena91 Thanks for explaining everything to me. I’m so sorry, but happy she came to you and passed in her sleep. I certainly understand. Our fur babies are family. I hope Ginger doesn’t miss Buttons too much.

She turned 10 on Jan 23 and about a week later she completely changed. Since she was a kitten she had something that was not right with her lungs. She had what I think was asthma. We learned to pet her and talk calm with her and the spell passed. She didn't have them all the time, every 4-6 months. She got to where she didn't eat as much. Mike didn't want to take her to the doctor as he felt that would be more stressful on her and we would have lost her sooner. She was content being with us. She came to us laid by us and went to sleep. Even though we have Ginger, our home is quieter now. I know you understand that after your sweet Doodles passed.

She just got a little worse each day. Mike was afraid to take her to the vet as he felt it would too traumatic for her. He felt as long as she ate/ drank, which she did until Sat. it would be best to keep her home. I knew this morning when I petted her and loved on her she would be gone soon, wasn't expected it to be this morning. Home is sure quieter now. Thankful we still have Ginger. That helps, but it is so different now.

I am sorry to hear you lost your sweet buttons. Ten years isn't a long time, no, but she was ready. She had the ability to cross on her own terms and you weren't forced to make the decision for her. I hope you and your family the best during this difficult time.
