Our electricity went out here yesterday

I was working at the computer and watching something on the TV and all of a sudden it was pitch dark. I checked to see if someone fiddled with the electricity but no light in the hallway at all. After about half-hour or so it went back on and then off again and then stay off for about another half hour. I waited to see if came back on before I went to bed and it did. It was off for about an hour. It went off around 4 pm and came back on after 5 I think it was in the afternoon. I do not know if it was just our area or what.

we used to have that issue where we live. All the time in the summer in fact! lights on, lights off.

@Hannihar its why i have a solar system on the roof - no power outages during the day. And a generator in the back yard.
we haven't had a power outage in our house in 7 years.

13 hours is a lot and especially in winter when it is cold and you need the heat.

Glad it finally came back on for you. I hate when that happens here because it is very dark. I did buy some battery operated lights though so next time the power goes out, I will have some kind of lighting to see around the whole house.

@Hannihar You are very welcome.I bought some of them from Ebay online and some of them from Amazon. You can get them from Walmart and other places too. They are bright and do the trick to give you lighting. I got tired of being in the dark, especially when it storms and the power goes out at times.

I also hate the dark. Thanks and I am so glad it came back on after a short time too. I have a flashlight but it was fine I could see in the dark. I like the idea of the battery-operated lights. That is very smart idea to get them and have then when the lights go out.

I live in Israel and no Walmart here and I do not like to order things online. Someone orders something for me online that is cheaper, but, aside from that other things if get online get here and someone helps me and orders them for me. Thanks but I will pass on that.

@Hannihar i know. We experienced prolonged power outage back in the late 80s and it wasn't fun especially during hot summer days.

We've been having similar problems here too but I think our harsh winter has been the cause of power outages. At least your power wasn't off for too long. Hope it doesn't happen again.
