Winner, Winner, Big Chicken Dinner

Sunday my wife and my mother decided they wanted to go to the casino. And while a lot of the time I am definitely onboard with a little bit of casino time, I just did not want to to. It's fun, but it is also definitely a waste of money. That being said, she wanted to go and she asked me for $100.
I relunctantly pulled out a Benjamin Franklin from one of the envelopes of money I keep hidden around the house.
As far as I was concerned, I wrote off the $100. If past history is any indication of future results, the casino typically does better than the gambler. So, so far as I was concerned the money was as good as gone.
But, lo and behold, she came back with not only the $100, but a $90 profit.
I took back the original $100 and put it back into the envelope, and gave her half of the profits. $45. At first she didn't want it. "Just put it back into the coffures and if I need money I'll just ask for it."
But I refused. I said, "What's the fun of winning money if you can't enjoy at least some of it?"
So I gave her $45 and kept the other $145. It's not all my money of course, and she knows where at least a COUPLE of the envelopes are kept. So, if she wants or needs some cash she'll just reach in and take what she wants or needs.
Nice to get a little profit this time, and nice that she was at least able to have a good time without spending any money. Win, win. As for the chicken dinner?
Maybe some other time. I made pork taco salad bowls. lol

Perhaps you shouldn't have mentioned that you hide money in your house.
Awesome that you not only got the $100 back but that she won almost as much.
Might wanna fix the "casion" typo as it confused me until I started reading further.

@porwest I never get tired of either movie. I think the second one is my fave out of the two. Did you ever see Home Alone 3 and Home Alone 4. No Caulkin there though. I have watched them once or twice. The first two are better in my opinion.

@lovebuglena
And a great and fun movie too. Yeah, those crooks had no idea what they had gotten themselves into.

Congratulations! I love to go to a casino but I always lose. I agree with you that your wife should spend the money she won.

@marguicha Oh man. Yeah, when I smoked I know I spent a small fortune as well. I imagine often what that money may have been worth had I invested it instead of smoked it.

Congratulations to your wife. The one time we went to Las Vegas I came out a winner. I was about $60 ahead; and I wanted to quit. BUT my husband had run out of money and ended up losing what I had won and then some. :-(
