I don´t quite understand the global waeming, friends. This summer we had a couple of weeks of horrid heat and the rest has been colder than many years. We even had hail ine day and I have been dressing in my winter nighties for a couplr of weeks. I´m now going to the kitchen for my morning cup of coffee. That might help me regain some warmth. It seems to me that soup time is arriving. Do you have more soup with cold weather than in summer?

Weather is getting weird everywhere and we can't predict how it will go in coming times. We prefer soup in cold weather.

@marguicha My appetite is little more on cold days and don't mind a little spicy and fried stuff. Heat kills my appetite. If it's hot, I prefer more of refreshing fresh fruits, juices and buttermilk.

We had some very cold days, but yesterday and today we had 18º C, that is TOO warm for winter in Switzerland. We have the problem of global warming here, the glaciers are melting.

@LadyDuck I remember that when I went to Switzerland several decades ago, we could hike to the glaciers. Here, most of them are in the Anctartica where nobody lives.

I love soup in the cold winter months. It just seem to warm me inside and out. We've had a very snowy winter this year which seems to go against all the global warming they talk about. I can't wait for spring and warmer months.

We are in summer. I think next winter will be very cold as I have seen many ants.

Global warming is not just about a rise in the global average temperature. It causes extremes in weather patterns and more storms, etc. I eat soup all year around.

I like a broth or tomato soup in winter. I pour it in a mug and drink it while watching TV.

The "climate change" thing comes down (for me) to statistics. Two fundamental statistics when looking at change over time are mean (average) and variance (are the highs higher and the lows lower?). The average temperature maybe be rising slightly since the Industrial Revolution, but has the within-year "variance" increased also? Inquiring minds want to know.

Interesting! As I need to learn thing that happen during my lifespan, I´m more interested in recycling and caring about wildlife, forests and seas. I´m sure that would also help.

I do. I tend to eat more salads in the Summer, and soups and Thai in the Winter.

I do have more soup when the weather is cool. I love the homemade soup and usually make enough to freeze some for a later date.
