You knew it all along, didn’t you. After all the times I’ve mentioned these guys as one of my all-time favorite bands you just knew they’d be here at #1 on this list of favorites bands who had more than one lead singer in the band. And here they are. #1: Poco Born from the breakup of Buffalo Springfield (where everyone sang lead as well), Poco didn’t invent country rock. They dang sure perfected it, though. Through fifty years and multiple personnel changes (thanks in no small part to the Eagles stealing their bass player ), Poco was, is, and ever shall be the standard by which country rock bands are judged. And, I think they’re the only rock band in history with a member in the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame! Just a little magic from one of the best. Thanks for reading. Poco Lead singers: Paul Cotton, Richie Furay, George Grantham, Jim Messina, Randy Meisner, Timothy B. Schmit, Rusty Young Jim Messina takes his turn as lead vocalist on one of the early Poco tunes:

Love that song! Yes, some terrific vocalists who went onto other bands. Messina with Loggins a real country rock powerhouse. Furray with Souther and Hillman forming the SHF band and of course Timothy B. with the Eagles. Nice choice!

SHF really got thrown away as a CSN knockoff, when they were far from that.

@FourWalls Surprised they ended so quickly. Three excellent talents! Maybe egos got in the way as often happens with strong personalities.
