Did you see this epic National Anthem fail?

I didn't watch the CPAC convention, and I haven't yet watched Trump's speech. But a musician friend mentioned the botched National Anthem on his podcast last night, so I had to check it out. He actually used the word "Schadenfreude" to describe the guilty pleasure of watching it. I found it this morning. I not usually a fan of Schadenfreude, but I have to admit that I hadn't laughed so hard since the last time I watched A Fish Called Wanda. Had you seen this? That poor girl is going to have to live with this for the rest of her days. Did you watch any of the CPAC convention?

Just watched that and it was... brutal. But then, I'm no great singer either. I also watched as little of CPAC as I could.

I suppose I'm bound, as an American, to find out what was said there. Has Trump gotten a better grip on reality now that the burden of the Presidency is no longer upon him?

@TheHorse One could hope, couldn't they? From the little clip I saw he seems to be running with the "stolen election" line still.

The piano player was an overdub. She actually sang a capela. But the expressions on the piano player's face as he tries to follow her "key changes" are priceless.

I can't say that I have. Though I will admit, I do feel for her. That probably was real emberasing.

@TheHorse I'll take your word on that. I might notice the audio mistakes, not so much the visual ones.

@kaylachan Oh, he was poking fun at her. But he didn't overdo it.

I admit that I laughed real hard. But I hope she's OK. The "cofused piano player" was actually "overdubbed.." His expressions are hilarious.

Why not? Are you too kind for Schadenfreude? I usually am. But this is an exception.

She actually sang a capela, which must have been REALLY painful for the audience. The "frustrated piano player" was a satirical overdub. The guy's expressions, and attempts to follow her "key changes," are priceless.

I agree..that is why I never sent Pony my recording..he would wake up in the middle of the night..thinking he just heard the ghosts screeching. He gives me inferiority complex about many things, singing included.

A friend of mine hypothesized that her ear piece suddenly went out and that she couldn't hear herself. It's a possibility.

I have no idea where they found her. Her mouth is shaped like Donald Trump's. Maybe she is one of Trump's illegitimate children and is blackmailing him.
