I am a bit picky about food, so I prefer...

... to eat at home. I am not that frugal but it is better to eat slow food. Since the lockdown, we started to eat healthy food and they are usually prepared at home. We buy some special menus outside when there is a special occasion. I tend to picky when eating out before the pandemic especially if I do not know how the meal is being prepared. Are you a picky eater? Do you consider checking out how the meal is being prepared? Image Credit: hips.hearstapps.com

During my childhood years, I was so picky. But then, when I grew up, it lessened since I started to enjoy some food that I don't want before. Moreover, I personally think that it is fine to be picky for our own safety and health.

If we decide to eat out, it wouldn't worry us but we wouldn't go somewhere if it didn't look clean.

We used to eat out at good restaurants occasionally before the pandemic. A sanitize restaurant is also what we considered.

I am actually not a picky eater. But these days I am pickier in terms of choosing the healthier choices. Before the pandemic, we used to eat out quite often . . . but since the pandemic we chose to strictly cook and eat at home.

Before the pandemic, my family and I are not that health-conscious. Now, we need to eat healthy food and it is better to eat them at home.

@Shavkat Two good things out of this pandemic .. . 1) we are eating healthier and 2) we are saving money from not eating out. And maybe 3) we are better at cooking now.

We do not order food because we do not feel safe now. I prepare all our food at home, not because I am "picky", but because I want to feel safe.

@LadyDuck I agree. They might give us their respiratory droplets while cooking the food. I cannot guarantee if they doing the necessary precautions.

I haven't dared to buy online despite having the food apps. I am not confident if the delivery man does not have the virus.

@Shavkat I do not really care about delivery men, they should wear a mask, I am not confident about those who cook the food... what if they are contaminated and sneeze or cough while cooking? Cooks do not wear masks while cooking.

Meatloaf. Photo is mine.
Before the pandemic, we ate out once in a while... Usually, when I decide to eat out and Pretty doesn't fight me too much. *sigh* She always says we eat out too much. Once or twice a month is NOT too much! Now, the places we used to eat at are closed. Which is just as well as we wouldn't trust them to fix our food. I am cooking a lot more meals we can both eat. I fixed meatloaf tonight. Would you like some? It is made of ground beef, ground pork, onions, garlic, spices and barbecue sauce and baked in the oven. I slice it and we eat it on sandwich bread.

There is nothing to eat in a restaurant once in a blue moon. Besides the point, it can save time in the first place. With this pandemic, it is not a good idea. Some restaurants are still open here. But then, I prefer to take the food out than dining in. It is not comfortable wearing protective gear. Your meal is mouth-watering. Of course, I will have some whether you like it or not.

@Shavkat I keep trying to send some to you through that little door on the side of my laptop but it just closes and opens and the meatloaf is still in there. Are you not taking it out when it gets to you?

@rakski My mom will freak out if there is an ingredient lacking. That's why I need to have a checklist going to the public market.

In my country's provinces, some locals love munching frog meat. As for me, I never dared to eat it. I heard that it tastes like chicken meat.

Speaking of fish, I cannot eat fish with soup. I usually puke after eating it. I do not know why. Perhaps it is because of the after taste of it.

I am a food adventurer, too. It is my rule of thumb to try the specialty of a particular that I visited. It will make me aback when it comes to exotic food. I need time to process how it was cooked.

@DocAndersen The only thing that can make me have a tummy ache is eating raw food like sushi. I cannot eat fish with soup. I am going to puke after eating it.

It is also the same thing here in my family. That's the reason why I am enduring to buy raw foods in the public market and cook healthy food for the family.
