... with both doses of the vaccine.
I was curious and asked Mr. Google (actually I searched for it myself instead of asking the speaker) how many people in NC had been vaccinated.
Well it took me to the NC Department of Health & Human Services website wherein I could find a breakdown of not just county, but race, gender and age as well.
Thirty Five Thousand Two Hundred and Nineteen peoples have been shot in my county.
What about you?

Upper Middle. Anywhere from an hour to two and a half from the mountains. Four to five from the beach.

@LadyDuck No, not a lot. It's not a lot for my county either. Out of curiosity I looked for the locations I could go to get a vaccine and there are eight or so in a five mile radius.

I tried to check today but the site is only showing me a screenshot of the dashboard and won't give me the ability to input my zipcode.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I researched just out of curiosity 17,000 vaccinated in our Swiss Canton (population 353,000) that means 4.8% of the population, not a lot.

Are you going to go back to the classroom then?

@NJChicaa At least you have that choice. Probably a good idea for the US to not jump directly back into in school learning quite yet anyway.

Well that's great!
I was amazed at how many in my county had been vaccinated thus far. We're still vaccinating the first three groups in NC.

Wow, here it is a lot more - at least 428,000 something have received at least 1 dose...and 175,000 or so have got both.

In your county?
I think it was only like 20% of people in my county total who has gotten it. I tried accessing the dashboard earlier but it wasn't working.

I am in Group 4 (supposedly) which is happening March 24th. I hope I don't have to proof that I have cerebral palsy (I have it mildly) in order to get the vaccine this month. If they refuse to give it to me, I have to wait until May.

I hope you won't have to prove it either. I need to find out if we have to have had a covid test...
I haven't checked today, but Forsyth is maybe doing 1,00ish vaccines every two days.

I'm considered group 5. How are they breaking it down in Canada? Here it seems to be frontline / essential first, at risk second, age third etc.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yes Frontline was first, living in nursing homes, etc., Age, high risk and essential.
So people born before 1946 are now. Then not sure whether it'll be 1956 or maybe only jump by 5 years at a time. Not sure about that but won't be long

@paigea It'd make more sense if they did it by decade, but I guess it also depends on the availability of vaccines too. I'll have to keep tabs on how the vaccines are going here. Will be a little while yet before I"m eligible.

I am beginning to think that most of mylot lives in North Carolina! I've come across many (some no longer active) that live in NC.
382,295 people live in my county (I was curious after your comment).

I have no idea. But, I used to live in North Carolina, and know by what I remember from watching the weather reports that the state is very good with providing county-specific information.
But, I have to me honest. I am not interested in racial statistic, because I believe that providing them creates more of a divide, when there shouldn't be any. I believe it is better for doctors and other officials to directly educate more affected groups about the need to take action to improve their health, rather than to tell the general public that one group is doing better than another. After all, we are all of only one race - the human race, and never should be divided beyond that.

The statistics do provide important information. I don't agree or disagree with you on whether those statistics should be outward facing, but the stats can help organizations understand and better serve all races. Or so I believe. Perhaps the stats get collected and just sit there never to be used.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Well, the media uses the statistics, for sure. We can only hope that organizations that can truly make a difference learn from them and take appropriate action as well.
