25 cents richer

One day this week I went to check the mail and on the way back to the house I found a quarter (25 cents) lying on the ground.
It wasn't a clean shiny coin but I picked it up anyway.
It may not be much but it's money nonetheless.
I am sure if I hadn't picked it up someone else would have.
I wonder why I didn't notice it on my way to the mailbox.

But a million more won't make me a millionaire.

@lovebuglena I have been playing the same numbers in the lottery since 1989. I'm not a millionaire yet either!

I find loose change on the ground just about every time I go grocery shopping. Last week there were three quarters laying on the ground. Of course I bent over and picked them up. Money is money. You know how long it would take me to earn 75 cents on myLot? lol

@lovebuglena Well, I have to agree with you there. But thankfully, most loose coins on the ground are simply found laying in parking lots.

The only time I may decide not to pick up a coin from the ground is if it's lying in dog poop, puke, or sewer stuff.

It is funny but there is an old superstition that says coins are the deads way of saying hello to us.

Interesting. I have never heard of such a thing. I was walking to the store recently and spotted a few pennies but I didn't feel like bending down so didn't pick them up.

@lovebuglena It happens, I often notice something on the floor that I had not seen just minutes before.

Maybe the sun glinted on it on the way back or you were thinking about your mail in the way there?

I don't think it was sunny that day. Maybe I just had my face look down as I was walking...

So you would pick up a coin smothered in dog poop? Not judging. Just curious. I don't think I would. Unless maybe I had a latex glove on.

@lovebuglena Well, I DO draw the line on certain things. A quarter smothered in dog poop would probably remain on the ground just like a quarter at the bottom of urinal remains in the urinal. lol.
I may be money grubbing. But I have my limits, you know. lol

@porwest A pee coin is not as bad as a poop coin.

Look at it this way: you're that much closer to being a millionaire!
