I just fixed me a 2 tuna sandwiches but the bread that we had open here, was stale. I have to have soft, fresh bread when I eat my sandwiches most of the time. I like toast sometimes too but I didn't want that for my tuna sandwich for today. I do sometimes though. Do you eat stale bread? Do you use it for toast?

@stephcjh Sometimes I will use it for a strata or sh*t on a shingle. But for the latter, of course, that's usually toasted.

No, I will always have fresh and soft ones. We don't use bread regularly. So when we plan to make something out of bread, we get it fresh or we bake it at home.

We live far away from the store so we try to buy a little extra to save trips but not too much. I think some of it may be going stale before we bought it though. would love to have a bakery close!!!

@arunima25 Yes. I do my ordering online though and my husband picks it up after they have already bagged it. Too many items purchased at one time to check everything after it is already bagged up for pickup.

@stephcjh Yes it might be the case. They might have been in store too for a while. You have to check the date of manufacturing before you buy it.

Yeah. I didn't have anything of breakfast so it was about lunch time here so I made some tuna with some Miracle whip, tuna, dill pickles and onions.

If the bread is stale, I just microwave my sandwich about 15-20 seconds to soften it. Tuna is one of my favorites!

@kobesbuddy I have tried to freshen up donuts, especially glazed donuts that dry out if you do not eat them soon enough but they didn't come out fresh. They were still stale and dry. I think I tried biscuits too though and those were okay.

Yep. Quick and easy and tastes good. I am not sure if I ever tried to soften it in the microwave before. Honestly don't remember.

@stephcjh For stale donuts or biscuits, they taste freshly baked!

Yes. It can be used for that. Sometimes you can toast it and use it in dressing or stuffing also.

Not unless I have to, the since it is so humid here, the problem we have more often is bread that gets moldy.

That is true too. we live so far from the stores, we try to stock up on things but bread is one of them that we can't but sometimes we just cannot eat what we do have, fast enough before it goes bad but a lot of times, it may have been well on its way to going bad before we got it.

I am not sure if I like bread pudding. I think I may have tried it once as a kid. I can't remember for sure though. Is that like stuffing or dressing?

@stephcjh If I have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, it usually moistens the bread a little. I don't mind the dryness.

I use stale bread for toast, makes great toast. Or use it for croutons in a salad.

Too bad your bread is stale, I don't eat stale bread, to avoid stale, I always check the expiration date when buying the bread, because they write it on the wrapper.
