100 years ago today: A load of bologna... sandwiches

This was borrowed from The Omaha daily bee. (Omaha [Neb.]) 187?-1922, March 13, 1921, Page 5, Image 5 Found on chroniclingamerica.loc.gov I bet that's what the housewives were dreaming of, lots and lots of bologna sandwiches. Bologna with mustard Bologna with ketchup Bologna with tartar sauce Bologna with relish I'm really just messing with you. We all know that mustard is the way to go. A baking company's ploy to get more people to buy Betsy Ross Bread....

I remember miracle whip with my sandwitches .... don't eat bread anymore, only rye on occasion.

Miracle Whip & Mayo make me sick. I don't eat bread either, not unless I'm with friends.

@rebelann Yeah, I'm not a big fan of lunch meats anyway. A relative once ate an entire large jar of mayo, and ever since the family has avoided it.

At least the pictures of them are. I don't think I'd want a life-like sandwich. Not after the dream I just had.

Back then bologna was probably the cheapest meat to use for a sandwich. I actually like bologna. Nothing like a bit of Miracle Whip, cheese, onions, and maybe a couple pickle slices for good measure. And maybe a dollop of mustard to boot. Yummy.
