Strawberry Firetails (Acalypha pendula) is the name I was given at the nursery for this plant. The lady told me she calls it a Cheeto's plant since the blooms look like Cheeto's.
Actually the plant is often called Trailing Chenille Plant, Strawberry Firetails, Red-Hot Cat's Tail, Kitten's Tail, Strawberry Firetails, and Dwarf Chenille Plant.
I hope to find another one soon. They are tropical plants and can also be grown indoors.
Photo is mine from last year.

Nice. Reminds me of a different color cat tail you'd find by lakes.

Such a pretty pop of color. Are the blooms prickly or scratchy to the touch at all?

@CarolDM They make me think of catepillars.

@ScribbledAdNauseum They have also been called wooly worm plants. Like the caterpillars.

@CarolDM It reminds me a little bit of a bottlebrush plant.

@spiderdust Yes it does, however these get up to 15 feet tall. The one I have is a dwarf size.

@CarolDM she has a green thumb. She only offered me one plant (I killed it) but I do enjoy what she grows!

Are they orientals where they come up year after year or of planted outside do they need to come inside for the winter months? It is it mainly a house plant?
I've never seen not heard of these before. Very pretty.

@CarolDM of ok. I think tropical plants can be either annuals or perennials and that might change depending on where each of us lives.

. I don't think I've ever seen those . . . I wonder if they are related to those bottle brush plants?
