Did I Lose an Hour of Sleep for THIS?

So this time yesterday it wasn't this time yesterday.
We started daylight savings time here in the good ol' U.S. of A. Everywhere except Hawaii and Arizona, which never change their clocks. (Which makes me wonder how long it's been since anyone changed a battery in their smoke detectors in one of those two states: you see, "they" tell us that when we're setting our clocks ahead [or back] it's a good time to ALSO change the batteries in the smoke detectors. But since Arizona and Hawaii don't change their clocks....)
An extra hour of daylight!
And it's raining.
So I lost an hour of sleep to be able to watch it rain until 7:45 PM instead of 6:45 PM?
I feel cheated.
Happy Daylight Savings Time.

@rebelann -- oh, just a little ways away.
Good ol' Texas: I left Dallas at 8 AM on my way to California. Eleven hours later I still hadn't hit the time zone line!

I was watching the coverage of the storms around Amarillo online yesterday. I have my Twitter set up to notify me anytime there's a tornado warning anywhere in the U.S. That sucker just did NOT shut up for three hours yesterday.

We're still having thunderstorms here. And under a flood warning now. *sigh*

@FourWalls We aren't being threatened, but the culvert/ditch empties into a new housing development. I hope the builder took that into consideration before starting to build.

Funny rant and I feel for you. Good point your questions about the batteries but I've not followed that in years myself.
Good song too.

I have been waiting for months for this day. I LOVE the longer days...and the warmer weather. Have a good week.

Don't think of it as more time with rain - think of it as less time in the evening when its dark outside!

Yeah, I completely agree. I'm looking at my clock and can't believe it's already 8 o'clock. Or closer to nine. If congress get their way, roumour has it, this will be the last time we have to mess with our clocks.

I wish everywhere would leave it alone.
