Tornadoes Confirmed in Mississipi & Alabama

Have been on the phone and watching the weather channel all morning.
I have friends and family in the south and in the path of these dangerous tornadoes.
There have been two tornadoes confirmed in Mississippi, for now. Storms are headed towards Alabama. And there are more to come. Three waves they are saying.. today, tonight and tomorrow.
We are in a marginal risk area. Hopefully just rain and thunderstorms here. Had some lightning earlier. Staying inside of course.
I hope the best for everyone. One friend I was not able to get on the phone. I hope she is in her safe place. The storms can be unpredictable and very dangerous.
This time last year, 24 were killed in TN and hundreds of homes were destroyed. Hoping for the best now.

I'm sorry--I thought the title was "TOMATOES CONFIRMED IN MISSISSISSIPPI"!" And, not I didn't have anything to drink!!!
I was in the center of 2 tornadoes when I lived in Memphis--they are not 'fun'!

This is the time of year I worry about the most, because lingering cold fronts are crashing into rising warm fronts, and that makes for a deadly combination. Please stay safe if any of those storms hits you.

the folks in the DC area (weather people) were calling them long-track tornados. I have never head of that before.

I can understand the risk. It’s tornadoes there what we call typhoons here. It can really be unpredictable and very destructive. Hope there won’t be any damage.
