Scary. . .

We went to one of the nearby towns for a few items we needed. The grocery store was packed. The workers said that was unusual for midweek. I told them it was raining and it made everyone hungry. After I checked out, a worker was coming in and cautioned me to be careful. It had started to hail. That went on for a while. It was hard to walk on as it rolled under your feet. Little balls as small as marbles and smaller. We did some other errands in town and noticed some of the cars from further south of us had some snow accumulation. Then we got on the highway to go home. It was raining, snowing. We were about half way home and hubby lost control of the car. He swerved all over the highway, going from one ditch, to the other, across traffic lanes and into the ditches. All the while managing to keep us upright and miss the little bit of traffic that was also on the road. We did a 180 degree spin at one time. When we had righted ourselves and pulled off on the shoulder a semi driver pulled up to check on us. We told him we were okay. He went on, slowly, with his flashers flashing. We slowed down even more and put on our hazard flashers as well so people behind us would not get annoyed. We did not have anyone come up behind us, though. I hope the people that saw both the semi and us going slowly and with flashers slowed down as they went south. By the time we got home it was only light rain. Glad to be at home.

@wolfgirl569 Yeah, I was driving with just my little daughter on a solid sheet of ice. I was in a conversion van and spun it.

Wild weather indeed. I was watching severe weather coverage out of Oklahoma last night, and it looked like it had snowed because there was so much hail on the road!

I hate when that happens. Good thing you made it home safely. I don't want to see snow again until December 24.

Yes, hubby did well. I frequently fuss at him about some of his driving but when push came to shove he did great. I told him so.
