My German granda´s favorite dish was made with caramelized diced onions, coarse shred red cabbage and diced apples. A smiked bratwurst and a cooked potato finished this dish.
I have all the ingredients. The only not so inexpensive ingredient is the bratwurst but I bout it some time ago on sale.
So, here I am, ready to return to one of my several roots. See you after lunch.

I did. I confess that I ate more than my share.

That sounds so delicious! I don't have red cabbage on hand, but I have green. I have all the rest of the ingredients too.

@marguicha I think red cabbage would be better, as it's slightly sweeter than green.

My husband's family is German. Sounds good. I also love pork and sauerkraut. Do you eat sauerkraut?

Yes. And some part of the pork whose name I don´t know in English. It is what follows to legs. I eat it with sauerkraut, mustard a láncienne and eat all the skin.

You can do it. The one I like least was a hot dog I used once.
