An eight year old English bulldog named Sampson has been reunited with his owner Mike Francrow who was sad that his best friend Sampson ran away from while Mike was eating at a park.
Mike tried in vain to locate his dog who ran away and traveling to a railroad track to get some rest when a Long Island Rail Road train that was coming from Jamaica to Montauk when the engineer Christian Beck with the assistance of his assistant Vinny Fragale were able to see the dog sitting on the railroad tracks in time to stop the train and get the dog inside of the train and return the dog to his owner after the railroad employees contacted Mike after messages to him were received via Facebook.
Mike has learned his lesson to have Sampson have an identification tag on him so if Sampson gets lost again, it will be easy to reunite with his dog easier next time.
The good deal is that the employees at the railroad company are dog lovers since they could not live with themselves had Sampson been harmed when he was on the railroad tracks while they were driving the train.

I know what you mean about trains not being to stop on a dime.

@Deepizzaguy I wonder if that's a route I've been on. My Auntie lived fairly near to the Port Washington station, and I'd visit her almost every year.

I agree with you since it would have heartbreak had the dog been hit by the train.

I agree with you that the dog ran away from his owner the way he did.

Thank goodness the train was able to stop. A dog should always have an ID tag on.

You are right since it will save the owner a lot of grief in case the dog gets lost.
