A friendly visitor. Kitty just watches.

I had a cute visitor the other day. He sat on my railing working on some kind of large (slightly smaller than a walnut) seed or nut, so I snapped a picture of him. I am not sure if he was even aware of my presence.
The squirrels at my music friend Michael's house like to tease his cats. Kitty watches the squirrels, but I've never seen her chase them. Maybe she is aware that she's a mouse specialist, and that squirrels are too quick.
Have you had any visitors recently?

I have five squirrels in my backyard. It's pretty cool, because momma squirrel will climb up on the screen on my patio so she can watch all the others as they forage in the yard.

Squirrels are rather smart, I always thought they were kind of dumb, but reading about them and then seeing one in action made me think different. My guess that guy knows what he is doing.

@crossbones27 Heh. I have cursing battles with squirrels sometimes. But I don't think I've had one go boo right in my face.

Earlier this week there was a squirrel with its left eye missing. I kept making gentle noises so as not to scare it, but it just sat there on the shelves, munching away at the sunflower seeds. Then it turned and saw me and up the tree it shot. Poor baby.

@TheHorse — don’t know. I couldn’t get too close, but there didn’t seem to be any obvious trauma on that side of its head or body (like a missing ear or big scar that would indicate a serious fight with another animal). It was relatively calm until it moved to where it could see me. Not a “regular customer,” because most of “my squirrels” aren’t that scared of me.

Squirrels and bunnies love our yard. I think it's because of the small forest at the end of our back yard.
A couple of days ago I watched a cat chasing a squirrel up the tree out my kitchen window. Every time the cat slowed down the squirrel would stop and wait for the cat to decide to try to catch him again. The cat gave up when the squirrel ran over our internet cable to another tree. It was pretty funny to watch.

No as the barn cats would be after them. They have caught a couple over the years

The last time we had s**w on the ground we had a LOT of tracks. Deer, rabbit, etc. I haven't seen any animals around lately. There was something on the roof last night. Could have been a raccoon. My husband re-homed a bunch of them; and it had been quiet for quite some time.

Buttons use to love to watch them from her cat tower
