Food for the Brain: Peanuts...Really?!?

Most of the old folks in my country believed that eating peanuts can make people smart. Since I was a kiddo, I followed their advice. Eventually, I stopped believing in it because it is simply not true. Another reason, it made my face had some acne vulgaris (pimples) after eating a bunch of it during high school days. Is it really a myth? Is it a good snack for you? Image Credit: imagesvc.meredithcorp.io

I have heard that walnuts are good for the brain but I suspect that is mainly because they look a little like brains. I have never heard that peanuts are. Peanuts are not nuts, of course. They are really a pea or a bean which buries its seed pod in the ground.

Peanuts are food for the brain. You must eat a thousand peanuts to achieve this. Be sure to throw up a spoiled peanut because it can cause kidney or liver damage.

It seems good to our body, but with limitations. This summer, I anticipate that there are plenty of peanuts in the public market.

I agree. When I stepped into and took my science majors in university, I learned that our brains need glucose.

@LadyDuck When I had my medical mission in Tajikistan, the villagers always give me this kind of nut. They showed their appreciation by giving some of their crops. However, I always tell them not to do it.

I am not sure whether it is true. Usually nuts are good for health anyway. So it won't be harmful But in my country, normally we think the walnuts are good for the brain. As to me, I don't believe such kind of things. I just want to eat whatever I like

I agree that some experts claimed this notion. The convoluted appearance of walnuts resembles our brains. I find it funny though.

Basically, our brains need glucose. That's the reason why we need to eat some candies or sweets.

@Shavkat But we also need fats and proteins. And stuff to scrape out our colons. I think peanuts have decent protein in them as well as carbs.

I am not sure about the last sentence you mentioned. In my opinion, it might increase uric acid, which can trigger joint pains. It happens only with people who are having arthritic conditions.
