The first thing that comes to mind is Boston. I had to look it up on why Boston is referred to as 'Bean Town'. Read that Boston became nationally known as 'Bean Town' as a result of a publicity stunt during an event called Old Home Week in 1907. A million stickers were printed showing two clasped hands over a bean pot. The image became Boston's unofficial symbol and it eventually made its way to other postcards printed during that time. Small ornamental bean pots were also given to troops in a Civil War reunion held in Boston as souvenir. By 1896, a bean pot was placed on the old Common Council Chamber in the old City hall validating beans as an official Boston trademark.
Of course, I can never have a post about Boston without mentioning the major sports teams of the region... Boston Bruins, NBA champions Boston Celtics, world series champs Boston Red Sox, and Superbowl champions New England Patriots!!!

Interesting,. Hawaii has no pro teams. So everyone is college sports oriented. Why no pro team? Money woes.1 person likes this

@oahuwriter I guess Hawaii has better things to do with its money that sponsor a sports team.

Well at least none of the sports teams had beans in their names.
I now wonder if the brand Boston baked beans is made in Boston?
