I began cleaning with vinegar and baking soda today. And inherited tea.

Like many things in our house our tub is over seventy years old and wasn't in the best condition when we got the house. The previous owners who happened to be my cousins tried bleaching the bottom of the tub and let it soak too long. The bleach ate away at the bottom leaving marks etched in. The tub had handicap handles probably added over time as my aunt got older. (My uncle built the house and raised his kids there).
The handicap bars have begun rusting and some years ago the caulking got mildew on it which I fixed by using one of the bleach pens. Today, I began by cleaning half the tub and it's amazing. It's not perfect and never will be but I might just switch to using baking soda and vinegar for all my cleaning except my new floor when I get it.
It works easier if you get a spray bottle for the vinegar and I'd like to find a way to shake the baking soda out more evenly but for now I'm using the box it came in.

The picture is the teas I got from my mom via my sister. Some of the teas are several years old. There are several types of chai tea. Either my mom really enjoyed the taste or forgot she already had some at home. One is a chocolate tea. That doesn't sound good at all.
Anyone else ever try chocolate tea?

If I ever try it I will give a review. It might also depends on how old it is. Yesterday is the first day I had any trees in several years. It used to be my go to drink later in the day when I was cold in the winter months.

I'm sure I'll try it eventually. My sister and I split some of them. Maybe I'll ask whether she liked the chocolate ones or not.

You use the scoop for cleaning purposes? That might be an address I'd not thought to do too.

Thanks for the tips! Are those teas OK to drink if they're that old? We had a herbal tea selection box for Christmas 2019 from a friend of my Mums and that had some chocolate tea in it but I didn't like it!

Foods can last a lot longer than the expiration dates on them. If they're tasteless or if I never get to them then I'll throw them out.
I had some ramen noodles recently that tasted weird. After I finished my bowl I checked out the expiration. One flavor expired in 2018 and the other three year before. Since they tested weird I threw them out but I never got sick from eating it.

@sharonelton overalls yes but if you're making bread fresh might be better. If your costing chicken then I don't think it matters. Others here might disagree with me though.

@MarshaMusselman Oh, that's good. I have some flour with a use by date of August 2020 on it. Do you think that will be OK?

I should use it to clean instead of spending money on expensive cleaners.

You should try it out. If using it on time test a small area first to be sure it doesn't ruin the floor.

I considered the peroxide but that's been in high demand this post year so I decided to use the vinegar instead.

Someone told me to use it in my stove which I still have to do. Marilyn in PA uses it on her kitchen sink. The customer at work that was telling me about it also cleans all her produce with vinegar. For that she diluted the vinegar with water and sprays it on her produce and then rinses it off.

The best thing about the vinegar and baking soda is there's no chemical smells. And the chemical reaction takes out some of the scrubbing need. You still scrub but possibly less than other cleaners.

@MarshaMusselman I don't mind to scrub, I try to avoid chemicals, it is so harmful.

I don't like honey much so used to use a bit of sugar. Today I'm drinking my tea black but if I find any that need a bit of sweetness I'll use splenda or stevia.

I have to remember to drink the teas. As it gets warmer I doubt I'll still be drinking them as coffee is my first preference.
