It's time to move on

We were both up early this morning as we woke about 4.00 am and couldn’t go back to sleep. We have a busy day planned. Vince will get a load of woodchip early on and we’re hiring the young man from next door to help us spread it over the gardens near the house.
We are going to put our home on the market within the next two weeks so there is a lot to do before then. We will ring the estate agent today too and talk to her about selling. There is still a lot to do to tidy up the sheds and house but we’ll get there.
We will pay a deposit on a home in a gated lifestyle village. It will be a great change for us but I’ve no doubt we’ll adapt. We’ll keep the caravan and will be able to carry on with taking photos. I guess my myLot time may be curtailed a bit but I seem to manage to be here quite a bit whatever else is going on.
Photo of the scene I’ll miss most.

I am very happy for you both.
I know that you have not come to this decision lightly.
I'm sure that you will both get along famously, you are both very social, and you will not have the yardwork to consume your time, so you'll be able to enjoy life more.
I know that you'll miss the roos, as will I, but you've shared so many wonderful pictures.
I hope that you can take a picture from the outside of your home with a roo near a window, that would bring you some happy memories in the years to come. hint hint hint

@JudyEv I know before we moved into the city, I took alot of pictures of the things that I saw that I knew were beautiful and that I would not see if I lived in another home. The sunrises, Ellie lying under our big shade tree in the grass in the front yard, the crane that used to try to go fishing in our koi pond, things like that.

@JudyEv - A gated lifestyle community ... is that like an over 55- retirement community, like the one we live in here in California? It was a change for us, too. This is the smallest place we have lived since we were a very young couple. However, we do like the easier lifestyle. I want to stay in touch and hear about your experience.

@DeborahDiane So you live in a separate house but others do your yard work? I'm trying to get a picture of your situation. One of my brothers had a place like that.

@JudyEv - It sounds wonderful. I will watch for pictures. Our community is older, and we have carports and the condos are attached to other condos. However, we enjoy living here, having other people mow the lawns, and we just have a small flower bed we take care of. We also like the safety and the fun activities. Let me know what you think once you move in.

Yes, it would be very similar I think. I'll write more about it but it has two bedrooms and a study, 2 bathrooms and a double garage. Each house is separate.

Those roos will miss you and Vince, as much as you will miss them:( Will you be selling your two sheep soon?

@JudyEv I would love to own sheep, they are so docile and have a beautiful nature.

I hope it won't take long for you to get a buyer. I would love to put this house on the market..but it is a lot of stress. If my property assessment is not reasonable though and my mortgage goes up I will do so though. I am not going to pay out the nose to live somewhere I am not very happy with anyway..

@JudyEv We went through this when we shifted from the city to this semi rural town. We had already got a customer for our flat and we were given time to shift. All went well.

@allknowing If our place sells quickly and the new place isn't ready, we can always live in the caravan for a while.

@JudyEv then that may not be so bad in that respect after all. You just might not see the amount you're used to seeing.

We probably shouldn't have got them but we'll make sure we find good homes for them. We might contact the original owners in case they have a preference about where they go. When we got them, we weren't really thinking about moving. Just that the right place seemed to come up.

That was my first thought too that you will miss the roos. I hope you and your hubby are very happy in your new community. I wish you all the best.

my grandparents did that in Florida, they loved the community. They would have gone there permanently (they commuted every winter) but my grandmother was terrified of alligators.

@DocAndersen Once we're there, it will be pointless looking backwards. I'm sure we'll have lots more good times.
