Have you seen or tried this new product from Quaker? It's supposed to save time in the morning but really, how much time does it take to pour some milk into your cereal in the morning?
And cold oatmeal? C'mon. That's what ya get if you come late to the breakfast buffet.
Someone gave me some of this product but I didn't use as directed. I just poured in some boiling water and vanilla yogurt, stirred and ate it the same way I do with the instant oats that come in the paper packets. Tasted the same, but now, instead of a paper packet that folds flat and takes up next to no room in my garbage, I have the card wrapper holding the two tubs and two plastic tubs and lids to dispose of.
Do we really need this product? I say no.

Doesn't seem like something that I would need. Like you said, how long does it take to pour milk into cereal.
I do like the flavor on the carton though

Yes, the coconut and almonds were yummy but it was difficult to scoop up the quinoa and flax seeds as there are bumps inside the cup. Why? Who knows?

@Marilynda1225 Especially if you want it NOW! Who wants to wait all night, and for cold cereal at that? As I found out, works well with hot water same as the stuff in the paper packets.

There are instructions online to do "overnight oats" but I have not paid much attention. I certainly do not need things premeasured with more excessive wrapping. For speed and simplicity ( in my mind) I measure out portions of whole oats, plus any add ins like dried fruit and flax seed or chia seed into some small reuseable containers I have. To prep for an early morning, I put the contents of one container in a bowl and pour milk over it. Set the bowl in the microwave and let it set over night. Then I cook it for a couple of minutes in the morning. Hot and ready. I imagine if the weather was hot I would pour the milk and let it set in the fridge until morning then put it in the microwave to cook.

Do the whole oats taste any different done that way rather than just cooking them the regular way?

I think so, too. I know I'll never actually buy this product. But I will eat the other cup.

For some people it might be worth it. Easier to carry for an on-the-go non-parishable breakfast. Me, I'll take the usual tub thank you. add water butter and sugar and enjoy.

That was the best thing about summer camp the one time I was sent: all the oatmeal I could eat.
