my friend passed away

I found out this morning that a dear friend passed away last night, one day after his 36th birthday.
I'm just gutted by the news. I hadn't talked to him much lately but thought about him all the time. I should have told him though. We were both just caught up in our own lives and figured we'd sit down and chat again sometime soon.
That chat isn't going to happen now, and I've been crying on and off since I found out. He was funny and snarky with a wit so sharp it could cut glass. No one can replace him.
Goodbye, Geoffrey. I miss you terribly.

I am so sorry to hear that. I think life has just changed all of us so much and we just do not know what to do about things anymore so we miss out on things at times. I am sure your friend understood as well.
