I’m Not Making This Tonight

It’s Friday date night tonight. My friend Valerie asked me what I was making.
I am making a fattening sausage and shrimp dish with onion, garlic , and peas over linguine and an Asian salad.
My photo is what my Ice Princess made when we had a family get together a couple of weeks ago.
I served artisanal rounds of naan and let everyone make their own mini pizzas.
I didn’t think to take a photo of the toppings I prepared. Drat! I put out matching bowls of pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, sautéed multi colored sweet peppers, onions, jalapeño peppers, sausage, bacon, pepperoni, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, and Parmesan cheese.
Everyone loved it and made 3 to 4 mini naan pizzas. I provided wines, ginger ale, and bottled water. Easy peasy.
Our younger son made his own delicious self-invented special chocolate chip cookies for dessert.
That’s how I role!

My daughter use to do that, when her children were all at home. All the fixin's, while she provided them with dough for a crust. An awesome time, for everyone involved! Your grand-daughter's pizza looks cute

@DianneN No, I'm not. I've never had probs with my stomach. I can eat nearly everything. But the above mentioned vegetables make me belch. It's a sensation I don't particularly enjoy. I can imagine a lot of people, especially youngsters, who would enjoy it, though. :-)

Oh - I was thinking your photo did not look your date night menu . Oh how cute the IP made that! We love those make-your-own pizza nights . . . Hubby and I put on more varieties of "stuff" than the kids do. Naan - what a great crust idea! Does your son have a name for his special cookies??

We have been using naan for years. It’s very versatile. Usually, we make our own pizza crust, but we had too many people here at once to bother. My grandson put a bit of everything on his and used up all the garlic!
Yes, my son has a name for his cookies.

Nothing like expressing one's passion in the kitchen. Discovering culinary arts could be a family's best bonding activity.
