Some Worrying

I took my 10 year old Chihuahua to the vet Saturday, and they did an extensive workup, from Xrays to blood work. They didn't have any real answers so they scheduled Annabelle for an ultrasound tomorrow. I'm really worried. She can't keep down her medicine, and tonight after she drank water she threw it up. She looks so miserable I wonder if it's getting close to the end. Ten isn't really that old for a Chihuahua, but I've been shedding tears at the thought I might not have her much longer.

@DianneN She's not eating or getting around well. The ultrasound showed a very enlarged liver and bladder. They gave me a new medication to try, but if I can't get her to eat it does no good. They told me if it didn't help by Monday they wanted to do more tests. The poor sweetheart can't catch a break.

When this same thing happened to my dog, I thought Micah was dying. Instead, he had an intestinal infection. This could be Annabelle's problem, also. With antibiotics Micah was back to being healthy again:)

@AmbiePam Micah couldn't drink water or eat anything. It was a digestive infection.

That is so sad. It's so difficult to help a pet when they can't tell you what's wrong and what's hurting.

Ten years old, for any animal, is what's considered senior age. Anything can happen at any time. My thoughts are with you, and I wish you the best of luck.
