Honeysuckle Shrub Surrounds the Fence

I wrote about the honeysuckle blooms earlier. @sallypup was asking if this was a bush or a shrub. It started years ago as a small vine. About 6-7 inches long. Over time, it has surrounded the fence and the holly shrubs next to the house. The hummingbirds and butterflies enjoy this one. It grows bigger each year. Snapped a photo of the entire shrub for you to see. This was last year in bloom. The little things in life to enjoy.

I must have honeysuckle confused with another pretty smelling plant. Never realized it was a vine. Looks so pretty!

@CarolDM I would love to get one here. I have a little fence and arbor, but they probably need more sun than we get.

@DianneN They make it with or without sun. Very resilient.

It starts out as a small vine. But mine was a cutting from a wild shrub. Thanks!

I have night blooming jasmine and confederate jasmine growing all along my fence. The smell right now is intoxicating from the sweet fragrance of all the blooming jasmine. Is there an aroma to the honeysuckle growing on your fence?

Not yet, this was from last ear. Only a few blooms now due to the cold weather. But soon it will smell very nice.

Wow, you started that from a teeny vine . . . look how it thrives! Does it require a lot of water? Such cute blooms!!!

I love honeysuckle, one of my favourite scents! I'm surprised that isn't more vigorous though. We have one which is covering the wall of the house - have to keep cutting it back or it fills the guttering and blocks the windows! Another one is smothering the shrubs and climbing into a tree.
