My Weeping Cherry Just Before Our Storm

I ran out to snap this photo just as it began to rain. The news flashed huge thunderstorm warnings across our state and in our area. It drizzled, heard one little rumble of thunder, and saw two faint flashes of lightning. Thank goodness that storm was a dud! Thank goodness I didn’t put any vegetables or flowers outside. Why? Because that storm is bringing near freezing temperatures tonight! Such is April in Connecticut

Aren't you glad you're in Connecticut to enjoy the different kinds of weather spring brings? Lovely picture. I love the tree.

It’s been a wild ride weather wise this April. Our low last night was 53. Heat is back on tonight! Are your flowers okay?

Ohhh, pretty in pink! What - freezing temps? It is oddly cool here - yesterday and today - but not to freezing temps. They say it might even rain on Monday - though they've been telling us we would get no rain for a long time. Nature is playing tricks on us, I tell ya!!

@DianneN I remember that . Our tree is probably 2/3 that size. Whatever is freezing to you would turn me into a solid ice cube . Wacky indeed . . . I don't know what the norm is anymore .

This tree is so beautiful, I hope the storm did not damage the flowers. Yesterday it was winter cold, today almost too warm. I am tempted to move the vegetables outside.

@DianneN Mother's day is earlier than usual this year. The locals say never to plant outside until the 3 Saints of Ice are over, that means, it's fine to plant after May 14th. A date that I cannot forget, it's my husband birthday.

That's a lovely picture. I read few more posts where people are not happy about the freezing temperatures again after some beautiful warm days. They all seemed worried about their garden and the effort that they put there.

@DianneN Hubs doesn't know what it is. He says he will saw off the limbs and see what happens. It's blocking part of the driveway and the whole front walk; so a lot of the tree came down.
